Rated for UAE heat

Air conditioners sold in the UAE must carry the national energy efficiency label, and a unit's cooling capacity drops in extreme heat. Ask every supplier for the capacity at T3 conditions (rated for hot climates), not only the nominal tonnage, and for the efficiency rating on the label.

Making quotes comparable

Ask each supplier to quote the same capacity, refrigerant and efficiency, and to list installation separately: pipe length, brackets, drains and electrical connection. Ask for the compressor warranty apart from the unit warranty, since it is usually longer and matters more.

Summer stock and lead times

Demand for AC units peaks in summer, when popular models can run short. Split units are often in stock; VRF systems, chillers and air handling units are usually ordered and can take weeks. Ask for the lead time per item and whether the price holds until delivery.

Maintenance contracts

For an annual maintenance contract, give the number and type of units and their locations. Ask how many visits a year are included, the response time for a breakdown, and whether parts, gas top-ups and filters are covered or charged.
