Lighting suppliers in the UAE

Before you request quotes

Approvals and standards in the UAE

Emergency and exit lighting must follow the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code and carry Civil Defence approval, and some lamps must be registered under the UAE's conformity scheme before they can be sold. If your consultant has an approved list or a specification, put it in the request, so every quote is for a fitting you can install.

Making quotes comparable

Compare light output in lumens, not wattage alone, and ask every supplier to quote the same colour temperature, colour rendering (CRI), beam angle and IP rating. Ask for the warranty in years for the fitting and for the driver separately, and for a datasheet with each line.

Heat and the driver

In UAE heat, the LED driver is usually the first part to fail, especially in ceiling voids and outdoors. Ask each supplier for the maximum ambient temperature the fitting and driver are rated for, and whether the warranty holds at that temperature.

Lead times and samples

Standard downlights, panels and floodlights are often in stock in the UAE; project fittings in special sizes, colours or finishes are made to order and can take several weeks. For a large order, ask for a sample or a mock-up before you confirm.
